Description

The Cheney Place is an event venue in Grand Rapids that primarily hosts weddings on the weekends. Fringe Events is a rental company that supplies nice furniture and supplies for weddings throughout West Michigan. We are looking for friendly workers interested in working at least two shifts per weekend to help with our deliveries, event setups/tear downs and also helping with parking during events (See general descriptions below). Work is available immediately. Hiring priority will be given to those who are able to start immediately, work at least two shifts per weekend, with increased pay available for those who would be willing to drive a truck (No experience necessary. We will train. Just need to be reliable and have a good driving record). Duties include but not limited to: Rental Deliveries: • Load and unload rental items, and effectively pack rentals into trucks • Organize warehouse and rentals items at The Cheney Place as needed • Positively coordinate with onsite contacts at venues to ensure delivery and location of items are as desired Parking: • Directing and welcome guests as they arrive for events at The Cheney Place • Effectively use checklists for projects during downtime (i.e. ceremony) • Tear out ceremony space and set up reception correctly • Tear out the all bar related items on the second floor, ensure the space looks clean and tidy for events • Assist in bussing and washing glassware from events Set up / Tear Out: • Effectively tear out past events and set up new events correctly including tables, chairs, furniture, etc. • Team attitude - willingness to help, professional attitude towards coworkers, clients and guests
