Aloha! Mas' was founded recently here on Maui by Logan Davis, author of The Calypso Fake Book - Volume 1 (publication pending) and needs a Trumpet player to add color to an otherwise one-man horn section! We are currently a group of 5: Drum set, Percussion, Bass, Guitar/Vocals, Tenor/Alto Sax, with the rhythm section doubling on backup vocals. A thorough book of sheet music for your instrument is provided and we are rehearsing weekly to prepare a high quality show in a few months. We are working with a selection of 52+ classic Calypsos written between roughly 1916 and the early 80s. Some examples are: Curfew Time - Lord Kitchener Paint Up Clean Up Time - Lord Creator A Dash of the Sunshine - Lord Tanamo Zombie Jamboree - Harry Belafonte Peace and Love - The Mighty Sparrow It doesn't matter if you don't know Calypso.
