hey, 33/F/keyboards, I lead a local indie rock band, I think we've mostly dodged the 'girl band' label but the band is mostly female because I believe that representation matters (most of my life I've been the only girl on the rock stage, maybe you know the feeling) and you know, be the change you want to see in the world anyway - looking to expand our live show, we are potentially looking for a drummer, guitarist, keyboardist, and/or horn player - it matters more to find people who are the right fit for the band, if you are then we'll find a place for you. women, LGBTQ+ folks, and POC to the front, diversity is important to me and I won't go making my art without it. musically it's quirky, jazzy, theatrical indie rock - think Ben Folds, Kate Bush, Sufjan Stevens, and maybe Peter Gabriel-era Genesis also the lyrics are pretty politically left, a little bit cryptic but there's songs about the environment, the failures of capitalism, and decade-old memes, so if you're about that life too then we want you on our tour bus (haven't toured yet - just local shows so far - but it definitely could be a near future thing)
