The Handel Aria Competition is an annual event dedicated to promoting the performance of Handel’s extensive vocal repertoire. The 8th annual Handel Aria Competition drew over 150 applicants from 10 countries. The seven finalists selected to come to Madison, WI to compete on Friday, August 20 are all exceptional talents. They will each sing two arias, accompanied by the Madison Bach Musicians, in front of a live audience and a panel of professional judges. Prizes include an opportunity to give a recital in Handel's parish church in London in the spring of 2022. A very limited number of in-person tickets will be available in advance, due to COVID. The Handel Aria Competition will also be live streamed. Please use this site to purchase general admission tickets to be in the audience at Grace Episcopal Church. Doors will open at 7:00. (Masks are required of any audience members who are not fully vaccinated and strongly encouraged for those who are fully vaccinated, per the Dane County Public Health Department.) Please note that ticket sales only pay a small percentage of the costs of putting on an event of this magnitude.
