We invite all of our community members who have been affected by the criminal justice system and police brutality to begin a healing journey Heal the Heart of Tacoma Presents: a healing circle event for all those who have been affected by police brutality and the criminal justice system Date Sunday, August 29, 2021Time 10:30 AM to 3 PM Location: The Armory | 1001 S Yakima Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405 **We will have food and networking from 10:30-12noon and the Healing Circles will begin at 12noon**Healing circles are unique to First Nations people. We acknowledge and appreciate the opportunity to use this method with all community members. "A Healing Circle is the process undertaken to promote healing based upon Native traditional believe systems. In traditional Native society, a sharing of one's journey is a great teacher, for it acknowledges that the pain, laughter, and love we experience can bring us closer together and helps us to learn from one another's experiences" (The Sacred Fire, 1993)
