Colorado’s largest senior expo returns with free admission, live music, savory food, community resources and big giveaways! Celebrating age in its 20th year, BeaconFest Boomer & Senior Fair takes place from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Grand Junction Convention Center (formerly Two Rivers Convention Center) in downtown Grand Junction. Attendees can expect free admission, prize giveaways every half-hour, free food and live entertainment. They can visit directly with more than 100 local and national service providers and agencies on topics such as health care, recreation, Medicare, housing, care options and more. Additionally, attendees can sit in on several educational seminars and learn straight from the experts. The biggest prize of all takes place at the end of the day when one lucky attendee will win two tickets to see The Doobie Brothers at Ball Arena in Denver on September 27. In light of the COVID pandemic, this year’s event will be mask-friendly, an abundance of hand sanitizer will be available and social distancing is encouraged. “The wonderful news is that local boomers and seniors are the most vaccinated group in the Grand Valley,” said BEACON Senior News Publisher Kevin VanGundy. “There are no current restrictions in place; however, rest assured, we will follow any and all official guidelines as announced.
