Description

Rock Creek Park: Bike/Scooter Ride - In-Person Outdoor Event (FREE). Robert Kelleman - Washington, DC History & Culture. Join us for a leisurely outdoor bike / scooter ride through beautiful Rock Creek Park. Our wheeled ride will allow us to cover more ground than by walking and we'll have more social distancing. You can join us with a bike, scooter, or similar. Please note that this is an in-person, outdoor event - not a Zoom broadcast. This will be a pleasure ride suitable for people with basic bike/scooter skills and we'll have plenty of short stops along the way for sightseeing, pictures, socializing, etc. All of the surfaces we'll be riding on are paved. All participants are responsible for bringing a bike or scooter (their own or rented) and helmets are optional. This will be a wheeled version of the Rock Creek Park walks/hikes we had before Covid. This 1,754-acre city park was officially authorized in 1890, making it the third national park to be designated by the federal government. It offers visitors the opportunity to escape the bustle of the city and find a peaceful refuge, recreation, fresh air, majestic trees, wild animals, and thousands of years of human history. __________________________ Weather: This event will take place light rain (sprinkles) or shine. If it's on our calendar, then we're proceeding as scheduled. Need A Bike?
