The Windy City Food Swap & Social is back! Let's swap food and meet fellow food and drink lovers again! After our swapless year (the Illinois stay-at-home orders were announced the day of our canceled March 2020 swap), the Windy City Food Swap & Social is back! Join us at Burning Bush Brewery to swap food, catch up, meet someone new, and get your food-centric social life back on track. There is no theme for this swap -- feel free to bring anything you want. If you are new to the food swap or need a refresher, check out our "101" guide here: https://windycityfoodswap.com/swap-101 Please note that we encourage everyone to be as cognizant of safety and cleanliness as possible, and anyone swapping is free to follow their own personal limits and safety procedures during the swap (and we will follow all of the safety procedures required by Burning Bush). We highly encourage all food to be individually packaged for swapping, all samples to be covered and individually packaged, etc. If you don't feel comfortable yet, we totally understand! Also, keep an eye on this Facebook group as things can change in the course of another month. Because this is our first swap back in over a year, we encourage you to invite friends, get the word out, and make sure we see some new faces at the swap. A food swap is a simple idea — participants bring some homemade food, anything from jams to cookies to homemade beer, which they use to barter for other homemade items. Then there’s time to socialize and have a drink or two. Everyone is welcome and everyone is welcoming. You’ll get to share your favorite homemade foods, have a reason to try that new recipe, go home with a variety of foods to sample and share with your friends and family, and meet some of your fellow food-loving Chicagoans. What could be better?
