Join us for a FREE 90-minute self-defense class in Santa Rosa to learn basic techniques, ways to avoid attacks, and how to protect yourself. Who organized this self-defense class?Asian American Pacific Islander Coalition of Sonoma County (AAPIC SoCo) is a group of concerned residents of Sonoma County who are troubled by historic and present anti-Asian sentiments and actions in the Bay Area and in the country. We want to create a safe and welcoming community through organizing and offering services and activities, and networking among the AAPI communities in Sonoma County. Who can join this class?This class is open to Asian business owners and their staff in Sonoma County. It is also for Asian American and Pacific Islander elders (55 and up) living in Sonoma County. Who will be teaching this class?Sensei Henry Kaku is the organizer and lead instructor for the workshop. He is a 5th degree Judo Black Belt and has studied Judo since 1959. As head sensei of Deleon Judo Club in Petaluma he has produced many national and international champions. He will be assisted by Shifu Justin Eggert of Wu Academy, Senseis Pete and Ginny Breeland of Cotati Aikido, and Sensei Lance Giroux of Konocti Aikido.
