Description

On August 1st, from 12-5 pm, Norman Fontaine's vision will be brought to life at the Rainbow House Art Show, at Cooley Landing park. Norman was a musician, visual artist, and part of the movement for incorporation in 1983. He was also a cherished musician who played in multiple bands, including The Skins who opened for The Warlocks, modern-day Grateful Dead. His dream, “Rainbow House” was intended to be a space where people of all backgrounds can come together and “express one's self, in positive creative ways.” His vision was to “involve artists in the community, and the community in the work of local artists.” (Fontaine, essay from the 1970s) The free event will include an art gallery curated by long-term resident Marilyn Scott, displaying the never-before-seen collection of Norman's artwork. There will also be local artists showcasing their work, local performers, and local food vendors! For more information on this free event, click here:
