Description

The AAH Foundation is hosting their 1st Annual Blood Drive! The AAH Foundation is a South Carolina non-profit, charitable organization that was created to spread awareness about Sickle Cell Disease. The foundation was created in memory of the late Ayla A. Haskell who passed away in 2012 from a long battle with the disease. The AAH Foundation is hosting its first blood drive in conjunction with the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church (Blythewood SC) and the Blood Connection (https://thebloodconnection.org/). There is a current, nationwide, blood shortage and it drastically affects Sickle Cell patients. Please note the following: Once you register via eventbrite, you will automatically be registered as a donor for the blood drive.Face masks are required per CDC guidelines.Blood donors must be in good health, at least 17 years old (16 years old with written parental consent), and weigh at least 110 pounds for whole blood donation.Blood donations will be given privately inside of the Blood Connection's mobile van.Refreshments will be served inside of the church.Once the blood donations are cleared and safe to be transported to our area hospitals, the blood is then transfused to local patients in need.
