Salem Heritage Days Return To Witch City Starting Monday

SALEM, MA β€”In another welcome sign that things are approaching normal on the North Shore, Salem Heritage Days return for a week of activities in the Witch City next week. The Heritage Days kick off with concerts at the Salem Willows shell starting Monday night and run through Aug. 8. The highlight of the week should be the Derby Wharf fireworks β€” canceled for the previous two Fourth of July celebrations because of the coronavirus crisis β€” Friday night at 9. "This year, especially, I'm grateful that we have the opportunity to celebrate all that makes Salem the vibrant and special community that we all love. My thanks to all the organizations, community partners, and City staff whose efforts make this annual event possible," Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll said. Salem Willow concerts include the Salem Community Concert and Community Jazz Band on Monday night, the North Shore Concert Band on Tuesday and DJs ,VJs and live electronic music next weekend. The band Ward Eights will play a show Friday night at 7 at Derby Wharf with the fireworks to follow. Atlas Pyrovision Entertainment Group will produce the fireworks. The Ice Cream Tasting will be on Salem Common on Wednesday, there will be a family bingo night at Charlotte Forten Park on Friday and the Antique Car Meet will be at the Phillips House and along Chestnut Street on Aug. 8. Salem police, fire, EMS and other public services will also hot a Public Safety Day at Salem Common on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Shakespeare in the Park will take place Saturday and Sunday.
