The Maintenance Worker is responsible for responding to general maintenance work orders throughout the center/academy. MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: 1. Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values, company operating principles, Career Success Standards. 2. Assists students in adjusting to Center life to enhance student retention by providing supervision, behavior modification, counseling, and by acting as a positive role model and mentor. 3. Ensures that student needs are met in a timely professional manner with the highest degree of customer service in mind. 4. Adheres to all PRH and CSDC policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures. 5. Prepares reports and forms and documents. Enter data in Maintenance tracking system. 6. Maintains confidentiality, but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed. 7. Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma. 8. Performs interior and exterior center janitorial, building maintenance and ground keeping assignments according to work orders. 9. Performs minor building construction tasks. 10. Mows lawns, maintains grounds, and picks up trash and papers. 11. Cares for plants, trees and flowers. 12. May transport students by bus and automobile to various worksites sites, medical centers, and recreational activities, etc. 13. Insures that all tools and equipment are in good repair and kept locked in appropriate storage shed and closets. 14. Transports equipment and/or commodities throughout the center. 15. Change light bulbs, replaces faculty electrical cords, etc. 16. Ensures all equipment and facilities are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, CSD and DOL standards. 17. Attends all training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled. 18. Strives to maintain a work environment free of accidents and injuries including no loss-time accidents. 19. Ensures a work environment that provides an equal opportunity for all. 20. Performs other duties as assigned. May transport students by bus and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: Must be able to read and write English at a high school level with at least six months of general maintenance experience. Must have a valid Driver License. Preferred: Certificate of completion from a Facility Maintenance training program or a closely related field. Possess a High School Diploma. CDL license highly desirable. One-year experience of general maintenance experience. General Information: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must be able to read/write at a high school level. Knowledge Required: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate maintenance techniques; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
