Beautiful, smart, gentle domestic King pigeons, bred for meat (squab) & sold live by poultry markets are misguidedly being bought & "released" to parks & beaches all over the Bay Area. They are helpless & most are killed by predators (hawks, ravens, gulls, cats, dogs, raccoons, coyotes, rats, etc.) but a few are lucky enough to get rescued. And they need homes- foster or forever! They make wonderful pets indoors with the family or outside in a predator & rodent-proof aviary with other unreleasable pigeons.
