Description
ELKRIDGE, MD — A father and son duo from Elkridge participated in the Bay 200 Challenge and arrived back home Friday. Hearly Mayr and his 13-year-old son Andreas Mayr completed 14 days of kayaking to raise money for hunger relief through the Bay 200 Challenge, which supports the Adventist Development and Relief Agency COVID-19 pandemic hunger relief campaign that aims to raise $9 million by July 31.
According to the Mayrs who are the Bay 200 Challenge organizers, Andreas happens to be the youngest teen to paddle the entire Chesapeake Bay.
The Bay 200 Challenge was created by the Mayrs to "spend more quality time together, raise awareness and money for hunger relief, and inspire young people and adults to challenge themselves and give back to their communities."
