Expo will include free health screenings, vaccines, employment information and available assistance
JEFFERSON, LA - The Jefferson Parish Community Action Programs, in partnership with JEDCO, Ochsner Health and the American Job Center, is hosting an Employment & Community Services Expo on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Alario Center, 2000 Segnette Blvd. Westwego, LA. There will be free vaccinations and health screenings at this event.
"Our goal for this Expo is to equip residents with more information about employment and training opportunities in Jefferson Parish, as well as all the available support services that our Parish Government has to offer," said Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng. "The event is free and open to the public. I encourage everyone to come out and take advantage of this opportunity."
Approximately 70 different organizations will participate to provide attendees with information about employment and training opportunities throughout Jefferson Parish; on-the-spot hiring; legal services and more. Additionally, many Jefferson Parish departments will be at the event to provide details and answer questions on available resources for qualifying residents, including mortgage/rental/utility assistance, HeadStart programs, community food drives and more.
