I'm a bassist who just moved to town. I'm looking for a drummer who wants to jam and is interested in a side project.
Why a side project? Because you're probably already in a band and have a spot to jam. Your regular band is good, but the music isn't as weird as you want it to be. They keep you gigging but you want to do something a little...different, but without giving up your main gig.
I'll be your side-piece. You don't have to worry about getting me gigs. We don't really even need to worry about finding other instruments for now. I'm not looking to make a living at this, but I do want to make fulfilling music. I just don't want to have to compromise on order to get gigs, sell music, or fit a mold.
I'm 43, I've got pro gear, and I do want to do something cool and different. My main bass has been an 8-string lately, though I have others. I've been in bands off and on my whole life. I don't mind gigging, but only if I have something I'm passionate about to present to the audience.
I moved here for work about a week ago, so I have a day job, and am looking forward to meeting some local musicians and seeing if anything comes of it. But to start in looking for a drummer; if the bass and drums aren't getting along there's no reason for the rest of the band to be there, so let's start with just that.
