FREEHOLD, NJ - Nine candidates will pursue three open seats on the Freehold Township Board of Education come November. Incumbent Board of Education members Mary Cozzolino and Kerry Vendittoli filed petitions to run for re-election by Monday's 4 p.m. deadline, according to the Monmouth County Clerk's Office. Both are running alongside Jennifer Ruhl under the "Kids Come First" slogan. Neil D. Garguilo (under the "Students First Always" slogan), Michael Feaster, James A. Gresavage, Renata Brand, Frank Brooks and Renee D. Pepia also filed for the seats. No seats are up this year on the Freehold Regional High School Board of Education representing Freehold Township. Harold "Heshy" Moses is running unopposed for a seat on the high school district board representing Freehold Borough. Current board president Paul Jensen, as well as Carrie Conger and Marin K. De Leon, are running unopposed for three seats on the Freehold Borough Board of Education. In New Jersey, elections are bipartisan, although it appears as though that line is being blurred in Morris County.
