Description
MONROVIA, CA — A proposed drive-thru Starbucks and a Chick-Fil-A are back on Monrovia's City Council Agenda for Tuesday following concerns in early July about the potential removal of a sycamore tree on the project site.
Councilmembers tabled further discussion about the proposal so that an arborist could determine if the tree could be preserved, according to a city staff report.
The team proposing the Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A eventually came back to the City Council with a revised project plan that would preserve the sycamore tree, according to the staff report.
The project would see a 4,562 square foot restaurant for Chick-fil-A be built on a site at the Huntington Oaks Shopping Center. The Starbucks would take up 2,200 square feet. If approved, the business would also include an outdoor dining area and electric vehicle charging stations.
The Monrovia City Council will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed online.
