Description

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — The Santa Clara County Fair began Friday in a scaled-back version from what organizers originally planned, but still features livestock evaluation and a hybrid auction. The original plan, announced earlier this year, included a drive-thru food fair, but the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds are still being used as a COVID-19 testing and vaccination site. Due to recent heightened concerns over the coronavirus, the site remains active. The fairs schedule is below: 7/30 - Dairy Cattle Show7/31 - Dairy Goat and Pygmy Goat Show8/1 - Dog Show and Cavy Show8/2 - Rabbit Show8/3 - Poultry Show8/5 - Sheep Show and Market Goat Show8/6 - Beef Show and Hog Show8/7 - Junior Livestock Auction8/8 - Master Showmanship Typically, the fair would feature carnival rides and other activities, but instead the focus will be on the over 400 entries in the livestock exhibit and over 500 still exhibit entries, according to KRON 4. Visit the fair's Facebook page for updates. Have any photos from the fair that you would like to submit to Patch? Email them to [email protected].
