We are seeking an experienced full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician, with the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, up to a max of 40 hours per week. (evening hours would be no later than 10pm). This position is non-exempt, and would be eligible for overtime. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and janitorial duties in both the clinics and administration buildings. This is an onsite position, working at our locations in both Santa Barbara and Carpenteria. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a strong background in experience maintaining and cleaning office buildings and healthcare facilities. They will be responsible for: Performs general janitorial duties within the Medical and Dental Clinic locations in accordance with accepted practices for health care facilities, with particular attention to infection control procedures, the handling of bio-medical waste, and safeguarding the privacy of the public being served. Responds and attends to minor plumbing and electrical issues such as, but not limited to unclogging drains; fixing leaky spigots and faucets; plunging toilets; replacing light bulbs; etc. Performs miscellaneous minor repairs such as, but not limited to, toilet repairs and/or replacement; repair or replacement of minor electrical components or fixtures; patching holes in walls, painting, and replacing damaged ceiling tiles, etc. Repairs and assembles office furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Maintains the interior and exterior entryways of the locations, including their immediate parking/pedestrian access ways, to promote safety and their appearance. Maintains, cleans, and promotes safe and secure work areas in compliance with adopted health and safety requirements. Sweeps, mops, washes, scrubs, polishes, waxes, vacuums, dusts, etc. Collects and disposes of trash; services exterior trash receptacles and ashtrays adjacent to building. Sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, equipment, displays, and promotional items as directed and in accordance with design diagrams for use in conferences, meetings, events, etc. Uses power tools, chemicals, supplies, and related materials safely, in accordance with product instructions, and in compliance with adopted health and safety requirements. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or education and experience which satisfactorily demonstrates the ability to perform the job Valid California Driver’s License Demonstrated experience maintaining and cleaning office buildings and health facilities. Knowledge of the use of chemicals and related cleaners and solvents routinely used for janitorial activities Ability to establish work schedules, perform routine assignments, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision Basic computer skills (e.g., emails, internet access, etc.). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Proficiency in the use of hand tools and equipment necessary to perform job related functions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of weight. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour COVID-19 considerations: All patients, visitors and employees are required to answer symptom/ exposure questions and take temperatures before entering the premises. All appropriate PPE, including N95s, provided. Enhanced cleaning and infection protocol. Vaccination or weekly testing is required.
