Description
The Extreme Tour is coming to Pontiac – Wednesday August 11th 5-9pm Oakland Park The busiest and most active Christian Street Music tour is coming to Pontiac on Monday August 9th to serve the community for two days before they play a free concert for the public on Wednesday August 11th. This nation-wide tour plays 3 cities a week from June to November and they are excited to add Pontiac to their tour for the first time. The Extreme Tour spends their first two days in a new city just getting to know people and connect with them. Then on the third day the public is invited to enjoy an evening of high-energy, spiritually uplifting, powerful music. Please follow this link to find out more about The Extreme Tour: Multiple churches have been contacted with hopes of finding a place that the artists can stay at night for 3 days (evening of the 9th until the morning of the 12th), but no one has offered to help, and only one church has even responded. The tour is entirely self- sufficient, they just need a place to stay when they come off duty while they are here. A church in or near Pontiac is preferred. All of their meals are being covered by the Armor of Light Ministry. This event is being sponsored by the members of the Armor of Light Ministry, an urban street ministry based out of Pontiac that serves the poor and the homeless. With personal funds and a few gifts they are covering all of the expenses of the tour while they are here in Pontiac. Anyone that is interested in helping the Armor of Light Ministry with costs or incidentals (we still need a few porto-potty rentals, a backup generator, and a few others things), please contact us. **************** The Armor of Light Ministry is a 501 (c3) non-profit organization based out of Pontiac, Michigan. Started in Flint in 2012, the Ministry has gone from counseling and advocating for inmates to being a beacon of hope in the homeless and economically disadvantaged communities that they serve. The ministry currently serves over 1,000 people a year. The Ministry organizes neighborhood watch groups and service projects, searches-for and feeds the homeless, provides assistance to local homeless shelters and churches, provides counseling and assistance for homeless veterans and poor, law-involved citizens, and wages an ongoing campaign that is aimed at restoring the Value of Life in the inner city of some of the most dangerous and destitute communities in the country. The members of the Armor of Light Ministry are dedicated to the premise that all people from all walks of life have a God-given Purpose to help others and that we are all given gifts that are to be used to serve Jesus by serving his children. “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40
