Be careful hiring off craigslist

Do not hire someone off craigslist until you do a background check. I hired someone to do work in my house who turned out to be a registered sex offender. I ended up having to call the police because of his behavior. There seems to be no way to report this to craigslist. They won’t even give you a phone number. If you’re going to hire someone for work. At minimum do a check online or go to someplace like thumbtack or Angie’s list where they vets their workers.
