WHO WE ARE Iraqis in Pajamas is an eclectic conscious rock band that has won multiple "best music video" awards at film festivals worldwide and that has received accolades from Billboard chart-topping and Grammy award-winning musicians. Our main music genre is alternative rock, though our sound includes elements of folk, jazz, and punk. What's particularly unique about us is that we integrate sacred Iraqi Jewish chants with original lyrics and music. In addition, our front woman self-healed from cancer and debilitating chronic pain through music and dance, and we offer up our music as a portal to whole-Being wellness. Our single released on March 1, following which the world went sideways, and all the gigs were canceled. However, our front woman used this downtime to compile and release album recordings, so as to build up our presence on streaming platforms and generate additional media coverage. So far we released an LP and an EP, with strong reviews, and we'll be releasing two more LPs and possibly another EP in the Fall. In addition, our front woman just launched a corporate arm of the band, to generate well-paying gigs locally. We need to meet regularly, so as to get our catalog of songs tight again, and otherwise be ready for well-paying gigs that come our way. We also need to perform occasionally at local venues that don't necessarily pay well but that will help us build a local following, which in turn will help us attract label interest and open for large bands that come through the area. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We need a guitarist who is excited about our music, mission, and message; who is available to practice regularly; and who can be available for gigs, which typically have a month or longer lead time. We need someone who is responsible and reliable, musically proficient and creative, with pro gear and transportation, and a positive and enthusiastic mindset.
