Purpose To operate and maintain fleet and lawncare vehicles and equipment; perform related work. Level Scope Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision. Qualifications Possession of a valid Driver's License. Experience: safely operating vehicles; detecting malfunctions in vehicle mechanics and electrical system; performing minor mechanical and electrical repair work; some welding experience; ability to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it Work Environment Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools; physical ability to lift and carry objects; move and load or unload material for vehicles; push and maneuver heavy objects. Incumbents will be exposed to noise, dust, cleaning solvents, battery acids, and gasoline fumes. Subject to miscellaneous work.
