Mission: Humble Design serves individuals, families, and veterans emerging from homelessness by transforming their empty house into a warm, welcoming, and uplifting home with donated furniture and household goods. Across the country, Humble Design warehouses are curated and stocked by design teams that personalize homes by providing a dignified, life changing experience for clients. Role: Our movers are the muscle of our origination, literally! We couldn’t do what we do without them! They are responsible for placing furniture into our client’s homes on Deco Days as well as assisting our warehouse manager with day-to-day tasks around the warehouse. Other duties include but are not limited to the following: • Passionate about our mission and wants to help those existing the homeless community in Cleveland. • Assists Warehouse Manager with putting away donated furniture from drop offs and pickups. • Thoughtfully communicates with our donors and volunteers about our mission. • Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly. • Assist Warehouse Manager and Designers with day-to-day tasks around the warehouse. • Delivers furniture to client homes on days we decorate homes. • Keeps inventory organized and has a general understanding of what is in the warehouse. • Assists with building furniture on Deco Days. • Ability to lift heavy furniture. Preferred experience: • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. • Technical Skills – Must know how to use google maps or other map applications. • Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client and staff needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance. • Interpersonal - Maintains confidentiality. • Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests.
