Serves as a key point of contact between Management and the warehouse. Plans and supervises activities to ensure control and updating of inventory figures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (functions considered essential as defined by ADA) •Manage Shipping and Receiving Clerks and Yard Hostlers on multiple shifts •Manage workload of shipping and receiving desk •Responsible for a full physical inventory of all consumables, raw materials, and pallets at least once daily. •Responsible for audits of all shipping/receiving and floor documentation providing feedback and training of any deficiencies. •Troubleshoot inventory variances through paperwork audits and floor production audits. •Daily reporting and correspondence to internal and external customers including carriers. •Fills in for Shipping and Receiving clerk when necessary. •Responds to all internal and external customer requests and concerns. •Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, and disciplining subordinates. •Implement and document appropriate performance evaluations for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations. •Administrative support for front office as needed to include payroll, supply ordering, purchase orders, and accounts payable. Knowledge, Skills and Experience •Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. •Effective time management and the ability to prioritize. •Ability to adapt to the ever changing or growing industry and it’s standards •Strong written and verbal communication skills. •Skilled in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and inventory control software. •Three (3) years’ experience in a related field. •Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and manage a team of employees in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines. •Bachelor’s Degree in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience. •Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus •Six Sigma Background preferred •Pallet Industry experience preferred Competencies •Business Acumen •Managing and Measuring Work •Priority Setting •Managerial Courage •Drive for Results •Motivating Others •Perseverance •Customer Focus •Conflict Management •Approachability Physical Requirements •Job conditions may require light lifting up to 70 lbs, sitting, walking, climbing and standing •% Sitting: 50 •% Walking: 20 •% Standing: 15 •% Climbing: 5 •% Lifting: 5 •% Bending/Stooping: 5 Supervisory Responsibilities May directly supervise up to: •Three (3) Shipping and Receiving Clerks (Multiple Shifts) •Three (3) Yard Hostlers Working Conditions •Indoor office and, plant/warehouse environment. •May be subject to loud noises, extreme outdoor temperatures, and moving machinery.
