In the 2nd grade I remember playing out at the farm where I grew up in southwest Kansas... I wasn't playing with toys, or friends, I was busy digging a small hole, and planting wild flowers and sage around the edge of the hole then would go and get the hose and fill the hole with water, only to have an empty hole within minutes.. but from the first time I saw my 1st. Grade teachers pond in her back yard, and how my dad helped from start to finish making what turned out to be the most beautiful in ground water feature I've ever seen. 25 years later and it still is operational and up and running, with huge fish and amazing plants which now are growing wild and a huge part of that pond. Over the years I would get calls from my first grade teacher asking me if I wanted to go up the road to her house, and work for her pulling weeds, and cleaning the pond, she paid me to put in other smaller ones in other areas of their property, fr start to finish she would guide me in what she wanted me to do... Teaching me lots of tips and tricks, I loved doing it so much that by the 4th grade I had put in a big pond in mom's yard and the high school science teacher would take her classes over occasionally and they would take water to look at under a microscope, or do other things that were scientific. I was always so embarrassed when she did that, but the kids that went would always tell me how awesome it was after actually seeing it. They all would ask questions, and it made me feel really good. I've decided that I want to open my own local small business doing smaller jobs. I just am really nervous and doubting myself and my ability to run a business of my own and find much success at doing it. Several months ago I had a little extra money, and I paid for and registered a business through the state of Oregon. So I have a business name, and business license, but I don't have anywhere really to do business from, and have virtually none of the tools or supplies I might need to do a job... I don't know how to qualify and actually recieve any type of grant loan money legitimately to start a business although people say that there is tons of it out there right now. The ppp loan scared me and I didn't apply for it, and I honestly would prefer to apply for grant money before applying for loan money to do this, as it makes more sense to me to go for money that I wouldn't have to pay back as opposed to money I will have to. So I guess here is the point of this whole add- can anyone help me to secure funding or supplies and maybe guide me in the right direction toward building my own small business? Also, I am a young guy in my mid 30's who works really hard and really well doing manual labor. I wouldn't need or want to start out with trying to get any type of heavy machinery or anything like that, I would be concent with buying a shovel to dig the hole type of thing... And also I built my own filtration system for my 8th grade science fair which ended up winning the science fair that year, and can make a filet system that is incorporated into a waterfall or into the pond edge of the pond out of sight, with which doesn't need to be cleaned but probably every 1- 3 years, and will keep the water Chrystal clear and healthy, and has the option of being 100% organically made, using 100% all recycled materials, or even mostly all materials which are biodegradable and only need to be replaced once a year.
