Must be capable of lifting 50+ lbs and are able to perform physical labor. A valid driver's license, insurability, and hoisting license is a requirement. CDL is preferred. Must have own transportation. Competitive pay based on experience. Interested candidates may call (413) 896-9240. Summary: Seeking Bobcat and Equipment/Mowing Operators. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of various types of construction equipment. In this position you may also operate excavators, skid-steers, specialty mowers, and dump trucks/trailers, trimmers and other small tools as necessary, etc. You may also be required to supervise or assist in any of the tasks required in LANDSCAPE TECH responsibilities. Mechanical skills are essential. Duties and Responsibilities: Operate equipment safely and efficiently Perform required daily servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to supervisor Keep time and material records Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit May assist Landscape Techs at various job sites as needed May perform physical tasks involved with laying pipe and/or tasks involved with slope mowing, etc. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Previous heavy equipment operation experience in brush mowing or grading required. Language Skills: Ability to read/write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Driver’s License required Valid CDL preferred Valid Hoisting License required OSHA-10 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment.
