Family Shelter Building Superintendent Urgently hiring Job details Full-time Qualifications: Experience: maintenance, 6 years (Preferred) superintending, 6 years (Preferred) License: New York state drivers (Preferred) S12, S13 Certifications Full Job Description Full time family shelter building superintendent needed in the Manhattan Role & Job Responsibilities: - NOTE: This is NOT a live-in super position. The ideal candidate would reside in the Manhattan or Bronx or Brooklyn and have a valid drivers license with his or her own form of transportation. -Have 6+ years of experience working in multifamily housing. - Must have expertise in plumbing/electrical/carpentry work, as well as painting/plastering. - Must be fluent in English, Spanish is a plus. - Hours are 8AM-4PM, or 9-5 Monday-Friday, later if necessary. Occasional weekends. Must be able to respond to emergencies 24/7. - Must be clean cut, professional, patient, polite & respectful to all tenants and staff -Must be a fast learner, team player, self starter, trustworthy, hardworking and committed, professional, organized, efficient and detail oriented. -Must be able to track, respond, and complete all necessary work orders. Responsible for monthly maintenance issues, keeps logs & updates management accordingly -Be able to plan & execute tasks within a deadline. -Must be able to lead a maintenance team & be a team player as well. You will have several assistants. -Must be organized, self starter, with great verbal and written communication skills. - Conducts regular preventative maintenance on items throughout the interior and exterior of buildings - Performs regular inspections of all common areas; troubleshoots issues and repairs/coordinates repairs as necessary - Responds to emergency calls when necessary - Coordinates with contractors or repair crews for work that is outsourced - Ensures adherence to city regulations regarding garbage removal - Examines all mechanical systems throughout the building on a daily basis - Maintains appliances and equipment. Maintains inventory supplies. - Supervises & assists porters as needed either for daily routines and procedures.
