Learn the fundamentals of monitoring your fermentation by accurately collecting and storing data on gravity, pH, attenuation and more!
QC2 Crash Course #1 focuses on the foundations of brewing QC: monitoring your fermentation. Class will start with an introduction to the tools and techniques used to collect critical data on your brew. Participants will gain hands-on experience with a variety of tools used daily in the brewery, and will get pro-tips on how to organize the data and use it to spot changes in the brewing process and troubleshoot early.
Topics covered include: gravity, pH, calculated ABV and attenuation, data tracking and fermentation curves, and forced diacetyl testing.
QC2 Crash Course is brought to you by the Quality Control Collaboratory, a premier beer QC testing lab located in the University of Southern Maine. Luci Benedict, QC2 founder, and Sam White, QC2 lab coordinator, will be joined by Matt Nelson of Bissell Brothers Brewing for these practical, hands-on classes designed to build the skills needed to start up, or expand, your brewery's QC program.
