Fellow Ellet Alumni, you are invited to join us for our 2021 All-Class Ellet Alumni Banquet on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Fellow Ellet Alumni, you are invited to join us for our 2021 All-Class Ellet Alumni Banquet on Saturday, September 18, 2021.  The Ellet Alumni Association was founded in 1929 and we held our first banquet in 1931.  This year, we are holding our banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn Akron on East Market Street, in the East End District.  If you are a graduate of Ellet High School, you are already a member of our association.  If you attended an Ellet Cluster school, or are a past/present member of the Ellet High School faculty, you are welcome to attend as well. Our banquet features the largest known collection of Ellet High memorabilia, covering 13 tables. Seating is by class year, so you will have plenty of time to visit with friends.  Music will be provided by a DJ, and the ballroom features a dance floor. A cash bar is available in the ballroom, and a lounge area with a full-service bar is located outside of the ballroom for those who want to enjoy a quiet setting for catching up with classmates. Weather permitting, outdoor patios are accessible from the ballroom. This year, our dinner selections include grilled filet of beef, grilled adobe rubbed chicken breast and vegetarian risotto.  All dinners include: orchard salad (mixed greens, mandarin orange, goat cheese), potato, vegetable, dessert (blueberry cake w/lemon filling & frosting or mousse bomb w/strawberry mousse & chocolate base), rolls, hot or iced tea, coffee.  The desserts are prepared by the West Side Bakery – a legendary Akron favorite.   The Hilton is offering a block of discounted rooms for our guests interested in staying overnight at the hotel.  The discounted rooms are available for September 17th and 18th.  Rooms feature King Beds, walk-in showers, and the latest in technology and ergonomic comfort for guests.  Hearing accessible rooms are also available.  For reservation and discount information, call the Hilton at 330-733-2900 and identify yourself as a group member of the Ellet Alumni Association wishing to make a reservation for the Ellet Alumni Banquet on September 18th. Room reservations must be made by August 30th. The Ellet Alumni Association has established a yearly $500 scholarship which is awarded to a deserving Ellet Senior Class student. As a member of the Association, we ask you to join this effort to give back to our alma mater. As always, the number of applicants for current scholarship offers at the school is far more than the number of awards available. How can I contact the organizer with any questions?Please feel free to contact Allen Smith, President Ellet Alumni Association at (330) 794-0091 or  [email protected] With Eventbrite reservations, what do I have to bring for admission to the event?You can check into the event by simply walking up to our registration table in the lobby area outside of the banquet room, and giving them the name from the credit card used to place your order.  If you prefer, you can also bring either a printed copy of your email confirmation, or show us the email confirmation on your smartphone.  Will drink service be available at the event?Yes, the banquet room features a cash bar.  Outside of the banquet room, the main hotel bar will also be open. Can I reserve a seat to sit with members of my graduating class who attend the banquet?When preparing seat assignments we make every attempt to seat all graduating class members with other guests from their class, and in most cases we succeed.  We cannot guarantee that you will be seated at the same table with other members of your class, but consecutive graduating classes will be seated at adjacent tables so you can visit throughout the evening. Can I sit at any table I want once I arrive, regardless of my seat assignment?All guests will sit at their pre-assigned tables until after dinner service.  We arrange our seating before the banquet, seating guests by a range of graduating classes.  Since guests pre-order their dinner selection, we do not allow guests to change their table assignment before and during dinner service.  After dinner is served, guests are welcome to move between tables as they wish.   Will there be areas outside of the ballroom available for socializing?Yes, there is a comfortable lounge area outside of the ballroom for those who want to gather in a quiet area for visiting classmates.  Weather permitting, there also is a sizable outdoor patio area accessible directly from the ballroom for socializing. What's the refund policy?Refund requests for tickets purchased from this Eventbrite page will be honored up to Saturday, September 11, 2021. Please note: the Eventbrite fee applied to your purchase total is non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled/postponed or a duplicate charge is created. Is the facility wheelchair accessible?Yes.  Four handicap accessible parking spots are located between the banquet facility entrance and the hotel main entrance.  A drop-off area with a wheelchair-accessible curb is located at the banquet facility main entrance. How do I get to the Hilton Garden Inn Akron?From the North/OH-8: Follow OH-8 South and take the I-76 E exit toward Youngstown. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for I-76 E and merge onto I-76 E. Take Exit 24-Arlington Road/Kelly Ave, and turn left at the second stop sign onto Kelly Ave. Follow Kelly Ave to Mary Ave (hotel will be on your left side).
