Hello! My name is Alex. While training my mixed breed puppy as a service dog for myself, I discovered I truly have a talent for dog training. I have been actively studying for around a year and practice LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) methods with my puppy, now almost 8mo, with great success! At our first puppy class at PetSmart, the trainer was so impressed with Roan’s behavior that I was offered a training position there! While I am in training for that position, I want to reach out and try to take on some one-on-one puppy clients. I am confident in my ability to potty train puppies, as well as teach basic obedience. To me, this includes: sit, down, leash skills, desensitizing to grooming needs, manners toward other people/dogs/other animals, focus on the handler, take it, leave it, drop it, come, and emergency down/recall. I am more than happy to try anything else you would like to include! My approach is very handler-oriented and focused on building the relationship you have with your new buddy for life.
