Learn watercolor painting techniques from artist Alan Bull Join award-winning local artist Alan Bull as he demonstrates the basics of oil painting (or watercolor painting) 'en plein air' in an informal, fun session suitable for artists with any level of experience. We will be meeting at a nearby location TBA and Alan will provide a brief demo and offer guidance as we paint a local scene. (In case of rain, we will meet at Port City Makerspace and work from photographs and/or still life subjects.) Materials list will be provided upon registration; some materials will be provided. Alan Bull is an award-winning artist who has been painting interpretations of New England landscapes, coastal scenes and agricultural imagery for over 30 years. Originally from Old Town, Maine, Alan received his BFA at the Philadelphia College of Art and worked as a portrait artist, theatrical set painter, and studio assistant to glass artist Dan Dailey before embarking on a career as a painter, illustrator, muralist and art instructor. In 2019 Alan received awards for his oils and watercolors in the Parrsboro (NS) International Plein Air Festival, and has twice been juried into the Cape Ann Plein Air festival. Recently he was the visiting artist and juror for the Bisbee (AZ) Plein Air festival, and his works can be found in numerous private and public art collections. Instructor: Alan Bull Attendees who are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to wear a mask and social distance. If you are sick or think you may have been exposed recently, please don't come! Registration closes 3 days before event. Kids and families welcome, open to ages 15+ (must be accompanied by parent/guardian) Attendees can receive refunds up to 7 days before your event start date.
