This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Roasting Plant at Philz! WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING This role Betters People’s Days by working under the day-to-day direction of Production Supervisor and their leadership team at the entry-level skill set to set up, operate and maintain packaging equipment. Duties including but not limited to -- driving a forklift when needed to move materials, assisting in inventory and cycle count activities and maintaining work area by participating in the continuous improvement and good manufacturing housekeeping practices -- should be done in the spirit of Philz’s Core Values and in accordance to established POP’s and Safety Guidelines. Learns and performs basic corrective maintenance machine repairs (knobs, switches, connectors, nuts, bolts etc. Learns and performs preventive maintenance tasks on all packaging equipment. Learns and performs set up, changeovers and shut down of all packaging machinery in the roasting plant. Clean packaging machinery / work areas daily - document on checklists, follow GMP’s. Ability to read and assimilate information from equipment technical manuals, system operations diagrams and schematic drawings. Learns and operates the Matrix Automated Packaging Machine. Learns and operates the automated label printer. Learns and becomes familiar with blending system components, operation and procedures. Learns and becomes familiar with grinding equipment / system operations and procedures. Ability to operate manual packaging equipment to include: heat sealing machine, foot powered bagging machine, coffee mixers, coffee grinders, manual and electric pallet jacks etc. Perform inventory and/or cycle counts. Operate forklifts to move equipment and supplies. Report maintenance issues to supervisor. Follow Safety / OSHA processes, procedures and regulations Follow Food Safety (FSMA) processes, procedures and regulations Good organizational, time management, problem-solving, interpersonal and analytical skills./li> Continuous improvement and 5S projects as directed. Contribute to a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, suppliers, and co-workers. Other projects as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED 0-2 Years previous experience in a medium to large warehouse and/or packaging experience. Good command of English language skills both written and oral. Previous experience in a role that requires a strong attention to detail and adherence to guidelines, policies or procedures. Previous experience working in a team environment and demonstrates professional and positive communications and behaviors. Basic math skills (adding, subtracting multiplication). Able to work a variety of shifts and has a flexible schedule. Valid driver's license is preferred, and proof of a clean DMV record may be required. Ability to complete heavy work by lifting 75 pounds free weight. Ability to complete very heavy work by pushing/pulling 150-2500 pounds lbs. using pallet jacks and/or heavy machinery. Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel. Ability to grasp, finger and reach. Ability to withstand noise and vibration. Ability to operate machinery and make general observations in regards to safety and accuracy of work using visual acuity
