WAUKESHA, WI – The 179th Waukesha County Fair celebrated its best attendance since 2005, according to a news release. A total of 143,978 visitors attended the fair, which ran from July 21-25 at the Waukesha County Expo Grounds. The fair brought back "fair fun in 2021." Fairgoers came out in record numbers celebrating "This Fair's for You!" at this iconic summer event, an increase of 21.8 percent over 2019. The pandemic caused the fair to be canceled in 2021. The Waukesha County Fair crowned Emma Vorpagel of Hartland at the 55th annual Fairest of the Fair event at the Waukesha County Historical Society and Museum in June. The 2021 Fairest of the Fair, Mariah Richardson, helped mentor Vorpagel during the fair. Organizers changed the program to mentorship-driven. "Coming back after a year filled with challenges, we weren't sure exactly what to expect, but we couldn't be more grateful to everyone that came out," says Chrissy Gluege, executive director, in a statement. "It was extra special this year to see fairgoers of all ages back together, enjoying all of their fair favorites and so much more that make this event so memorable." 2021 Waukesha County Fair Daily Attendance: Wednesday, July 21 27,845 (Second-best Wednesday in fair history) Thursday, July 22 20,525 Friday, July 23 30,363 Saturday, July 24 41,857 (Best Saturday since 2005) Sunday, July 25 23,388
