This daylong event is for all Delta stakeholders to learn about its diversity, discover and share conservation actions, and rank remedies.
Participants will:
Hear from former Congressman Jo Bonner, Chief of Staff to Governor Kay Ivey, on the importance of the Delta to our entire state, as well as the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program's Project Team experts who are working on a draft management plan for the Mobile-Tensaw-Apalachee watershed, at a quarter-million acres, the largest in the Mobile Bay watershed boundary spanning Mobile and Baldwin Counties;
Learn about the Delta's great biodiversity and what is imperiling these unique lands and waters;
Discover actions that can be taken to restore, protect and preserve this watershed;
Share additional steps that can contribute to the health of the Delta;
Visit the Delta over lunch aboard The Perdido Queen; and
Prioritize what can and should happen now and into the future to best manage "America's Amazon."
Those interested in scholarships should contact the event organizer.
