LEESBURG, VA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Leesburg, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day for Loudoun County Public Schools. The first day of school for most students in Leesburg is Thursday, Aug. 26. Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Loudoun County. The Loudoun County school system has not yet announced a mask policy for the upcoming school year. However, new guidance released by the CDC has recommended all students in K-12 settings wear a mask. Some school districts in northern Virginia, including Fairfax County Public Schools, have already updated their mask guidelines for the upcoming school year in accordance with CDC recommendations. Read more: Face Masks Required For Start Of Fairfax School Year Here is the list of dates to know for this school year: Loudoun County Public Schools First Day: Thursday, Aug. 26 Fall Break: There will be no classes for students on Friday, Oct. 29 for a staff development day. Students will also not be in class on Monday, Nov. 1, Tuesday, Nov. 2, or Thursday, Nov. 4. Thanksgiving Break: Wednesday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 26 Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 20 through Sunday, Jan. 2. Students return to class on Monday, Jan. 3. Spring Break: Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15. Last Day: Wednesday, June 15.
