Description

By Samuel Stebbins, 24/7 Wall St. - Albuquerque 2021-07-29 An estimated 162,725,812 Americans have been fully vaccinated, or 49.7% of the U.S. population. So far, states have largely managed their own vaccination coordination efforts — and some have proven more efficient at it than others. In New Mexico, 56.6% of the population are fully vaccinated, higher than the U.S. average. As the virus mutates and new variants spread, vaccinating the population as rapidly as possible is critical. In total, there have been 207,972 confirmed cases of the virus in New Mexico as of July 23 — or 9,925 for every 100,000 people. For context, there have been 10,421 known infections for every 100,000 people nationwide. All COVID-19 and vaccination data used in this story are current as of July 23, 2021. These are all the counties in New Mexico where COVID-19 is slowing (and where it's still getting worse). Can't see the article's infographic?
