Lovers Lane Underage Sex Sting In Shorewood: Man, 39, Charged

SHOREWOOD, IL —More than three months after the Save Our Siblings group videotaped an underage sex sting at the Shorewood Lovers Lane business on Route 59, a 39-year-old Lockport man, John Resedean, has been charged with several felony crimes. Shorewood Deputy Police Chief Jason Barten told Joliet Patch on Thursday that Resedean has been charged with grooming, traveling to meet a minor and indecent solicitation of a child. Barten said the Save Our Siblings captured video of Resedean traveling to Shorewood for the purposes of meeting an underage girl for the purposes of sex back in late April. The encounter happened April 24, and the group uploaded their video to YouTube, Barten said. Barten said that Save Our Siblings is the same group who capturedlong-time Diocese of Joliet teacher Jeremy Hylka traveling to the Joliet McDonald's on Jefferson Street around the same time frame. Hylka now faces five felony charges and the Diocese of Joliet fired him as a teacher at Catholic school in Lockport. As for the meet-up involving Resedean at the Lovers Lane on Route 59, Barten said the Save Our Siblings "approached us after this video went up (on YouTube), before we had even been made aware that this occurred. The investigation was initiated based on the content of the YouTube video." "That organization, Save Our Siblings, they arranged a meeting, and he showed up, and the incident was recorded by them, and eventually it was given to us," Barten told Patch. The video posted on YouTube is called Church-Goer Loses Everything. As of July 29, the video had been viewed 6,378 times. The video begins by announcing, "We've got another one coming right now, supposed to be meeting me at 5:30 p.m. at the Lovers Lane in Shorewood. His name is John Resedean, out of Lockport, 39 years old, coming to meet a 16-year-old girl."
