Description
PETALUMA, CA — A fire Wednesday at a portable office building in Petaluma spread to a second building and a small area of grass but no injuries were reported, the Petaluma Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at 12:31 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a structure fire at 1 Casa Grande Road, Petaluma FD Battalion Chief Kevin Weaver said.
The first arriving engine found a one-story portable office building well involved in flames, Weaver said.
A small grass fire was burning to the east of the building, and a part of a second building to its north was also ablaze, Weaver said.
Additional crews from Petaluma FD and Rancho Adobe Fire Department helped put out the fire and search the buildings to make sure no one was inside.
The fire was under control within 10 minutes but caused approximately $100,000 in damage, Weaver said.
No firefighters or occupants of the buildings were hurt during the incident.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation, Weaver said.
