ORLAND PARK, IL — The Village of Orland Park has ordered an immediate closure of the Riviera Country Club until further notice. The closure comes less than 24 hours after Lee Anglin, 50, who spent years in prison and was on parole in a $10 million federal fraud case was found there Wednesday and charged with violating his parole. "By order of the Village of Orland Park Building Commissioner, Riviera Country Club is closed until further notice," the village announced on its Facebook page Thursday. "Those who had contracts or commitments with the business owner are urged to first reach out to Riviera Country Club and if matters are not attended to, contact the office of the Illinois Attorney General Consumer Protection Division." A news release from the village sent Thursday afternoon stated that the business is temporarily closed pending the correction of the following violations: The electrical panel must be repaired to ensure the safety of staff and the general public. All standing water must be removed and cleaned. A mold remediation company must be hired and a report of the findings must be provided by the court date. Any mold found must be remediated by the company. The business license must be brought up to date and all outstanding fees paid. The elevator licenses must be brought up to date and all outstanding fees paid. The release states that it is the responsibility of current ownership to schedule an inspection with the Village of Orland Park Development Services Department and correct the violations by Aug. 10. A public hearing will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. at the Orland Park Village Hall to determine the possible suspension or revocation of the liquor license held by Riviera Country Club due to violations of the Orland Park Village Code, the release states. Nowhere in the release is there mention of Anglin's arrest, made less than 24 hours before it was ordered closed. Patch reached out to the country club for comment Thursday afternoon. The country club, 8801 W. 143rd St., Orland Park, only recently reopened in June with new owners. Police said Anglin was taken into custody without incident Wednesday, and that days prior to the arrest, a man tipped off the department that Anglin had been seen at the facility, prompting the department to contact the United States Marshals Service. Anglin previously served time in prison and was on parole in a $10 million federal fraud case, according to court records. The businessman failed to report back to prison on June 29 after violating the terms of his parole, prosecutors said, and a new warrant for his arrest was issued on July 9.
