OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police are looking for three people in a black Honda Civic who fled the scene where a man was shot Thursday afternoon. The man is being treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. At approximately 2:11 p.m., several residents called 911 to report hearing several shots being fired in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 10400 block of South Massasoit Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man with a graze wound to the head. Based on statements from neighbors, they told police they saw two black men wearing masks and all black clothing approach the man. The gunmen fired multiple shots, then jumped into a newer model black Honda Civic through the passenger doors. The car was last seen heading northbound on Central Avenue from 105th Street. Shell casings were found in the parking lot, as well as damage to two vehicles, police said. According to At approximately 2:11 pm we received several calls of multiple shots fired near 10409 Massasoit. "It appeared the offenders knew the victim," said Chief Daniel Vittorio, of the Oak Lawn Police Department. "According to the victim's statement, as he was coming out of the condo, they approached him and words were exchanged." So far, the gunmen have not been identified, police said. Officers are combing the neighborhood looking for home security video in attempts to get the plate number of the purported shooters' car.
