PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Cassidy Sanders thought the domesticated fowl was a rooster but decided the bird lost in Phoenixville is a hen.
The vet tech assistant at Valley Veterinary Hospital found the hen wandering in her Phoenixville neighborhood Thursday, injured.
Sanders cleaned the hen's wounds and then went about trying to find her owner.
She made a post on social media in hopes of finding the hen's home. "Hey, folks! I live at the corner of Marshall and Saint Mary's streets on the Northside and someone's hen found her way to my yard this morning."
The vet tech assistant reported, "She's terribly injured but I cleaned the wounds and am probably taking her to the vet today. Just wanted to put this out there so that I can find her owner and return her once she's healthy!"
Sanders said in the afternoon she is still looking for the hen's owner.
"The hen is currently at Valley Veterinary Hospital where I work. We're cleaning her up and keeping her comfortable. Still no progress on finding her home," Sanders said.
