Description
Position Summary: The Recovery Coach provides flexible, community-based services that are designed to promote the empowerment, recovery, and community integration of adults who have serious mental health challenges. This is done by partnering with them to direct their recovery and advocacy process, by coaching and supporting the skill acquisition and utilization needed to facilitate the individual’s recovery, and by linking them to available services, resources, and supports. The recovery coach will assure that services are individualized, strengths and needs-based, culturally sensitive, responsive, and goal-driven.

Position Qualifications: A Recovery Coach will have a minimum of one of the following:1: A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling.2: Be a registered nurse3: A high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, counseling, or other social sciences plus 2 years in direct contact with mental health consumers.Other Requirements:
