ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Township is looking for the next singing senior superstar! Supervisor Paul O'Grady and the Board of Trustees want ALL seniors, age 55 or older, to come try out for Orland Township's Senior American Idol! The main event, which gives back to the community by benefiting the Orland Township Scholarship Foundation, has steadily gained popularity in the past few years; making it the largest senior event hosted by the Township. Each contestant is asked to sing a two to three-minute segment of a song of their choice, a cappella, for a panel of judges. The top contestants will be selected to compete at the finals in October. "We enjoy giving our seniors an opportunity to showcase some of their not-so-hidden talents," said Supervisor O'Grady. "That's why I invite all of our singing seniors to come out to the auditions and compete for a spot at the finals this Fall!" Orland Township's Senior American Idol auditions will take place on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Orland Township Administrative Offices, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park.
