On Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., St. John Lutheran Church and the Darien Historical Society will co-sponsor a tour of the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, 67th Street & Clarendon Hills Road in Darien, IL. Select gravesites of area residents from past generations will be visited. Docents in period dress will give first person narratives about the life and contributions of these early settlers including insight into local history. To acknowledge the nine Civil War veterans buried in the cemetery, there will be Civil War re-enactment and memorabilia from that conflict on display. A bake sale will also be held. There is no charge for this family-friendly event.
