Shadow Puppet Brewing: Salesperson – San Joaquin County Brewing amazing beers in Livermore since 2016, award-winning Shadow Puppet Brewing Company is now focused on growing our footprint further across San Joaquin County & beyond. Shadow Puppet is currently looking for a talented & motivated Salesperson to help us continue our rapid growth in the San Joaquin County market. This role is the face of Shadow Puppet and is the connection to our loyal customer accounts (retail stores, restaurants, bars.) We are looking for someone who will take ownership and personal responsibility over the territory and accounts to grow sales with a strong commitment to outcomes and results.We offer competitive pay and benefits commensurate with experience and performance. Essential Job Duties: Achieve sales goals by selling throughout the territory. You are a one-man army, with plenty of support from the management team to achieve your goals and create the results you want.Develop and grow relationships with existing clients and potential accounts by consistently, persistently, and respectfully delivering value (all within the organization’s resource and budget constraints)Sales calls, including cold callingEmailing suggestions, relevant articles, relevant news to potential and existing accounts Schedule & perform educational tasting appointments with existing and prospective accountsGather customer insights & feedback and convey back to Shadow Puppet managementMaintain communication & expectations with Production Team & Mgmt about sales forecasts & other related insights. Other Responsibilities: Perform product merchandising during account visitsKeep track of your relationships and interactions each day using CRM system, including a pipeline of prospective accountsCollect payment from overdue accountsParticipate in events & festivals as neededUnderstand the Shadow Puppet Brewing Company philosophy and approach to craft beerInternalize and convey the Shadow Puppet Brewing Company brand and values in your daily workLearn new sales and business development skills with each passing weekMaintain ongoing education of Shadow Puppet products and the craft beer industry overall, including regulations and laws that govern the craft beer industry Qualities of the Ideal Candidate: Excellent time management skills are imperative in order to be successful in this role. You need to be able to efficiently develop and execute your plan of attack for each week, consisting of a mix of acquiring new accounts and growing existing accounts.Passionate about and understands the craft beer industry.Lives in or around the San Joaquin County or LivermoreAt least 1-2 years of experience selling and managing accounts with a proven track record and referencesOutgoing, optimistic, enthusiastic, and trusting of othersPersuasive and good with wordsConfident, poised, and comfortable with selling and closingComfortable with cold callsPersistent and dogged in pursuing relationships, even if it takes weeks or months of constant effort to establish them, all while not being “annoying”Embraces technology (such as a CRM, spell checker, etc...) to help strengthen attention to detail if that’s not your strong suitIs comfortable being mostly self-directed and self-starting to achieve business objectivesMust be 21 years of age or olderReliable transportation, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Challenges of the Job: You will need to connect and coordinate with lots of different people efficiently. You’ll use a combination of phone, in-person, email and txt communication tools, depending on the needs of your accounts.You need to be good at managing your own time to achieve your sales goals.You will need to be able to manage allocations, balance what is currently available with customer demand.We are a small and very tight-knit company that expects timely communication within and among departments, if this is not your style that could be a challenge.You will need to be happy and comfortable working in a team structured company.With new beer centric places opening weekly, and current prospective accounts changing their line up often, you will need to keep up with the market’s changing consumer demands with ease.Keeping our customers happy is very important to us.
