IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A third body, along with new evidence authorities believe is connected to the origin of a fatal house fire in Troutman, were discovered late Wednesday afternoon, according to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office. Fire investigators, along with numerous agencies, including the State Bureau of Investigation, emergency medical services and the Fire Marshall's Office launched fire and death investigations into the July 27 blaze at an Iredell County home left three people dead. The fatal fire occurred after a "domestic situation" and, as of Wednesday, both it and the deaths were being treated as suspicious, ICSO said. Troutman Fire Department, along with multiple other departments from the area, responded to the home on Loram Drive in Troutman around 9 p.m., where they found it on fire and "fully involved," ICSO said. "Both the fire and deaths are being treated as suspicious and the investigation is still on going." According to the sheriff's office, they received a call for assistance in Mooresville Tuesday evening around 9 p.m. — around the same time a 911 call was made reporting the fire in Troutman — after an adult son who lived in the Troutman home arrived at his grandmother's home. ICSO investigators responded to both scenes. "Based on interviews and initial information received, detectives determined that three other people were last known to be in the home on fire," ICSO said. "Information was gathered indicating that in the hours before the fire, the family had been involved in a domestic situation that prompted the one son to leave." Authorities said autopsies would be conducted to confirm the identities of the victims and their cause of death. "Additional evidence has been collected and is being processed," ICSO said. "The investigation is still ongoing pending the results of various forensic examinations."
