FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in our area, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Forsyth County.
The first day of school for most students in Forsyth County is on Thursday, Aug. 5.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Forsyth County.
The district released an announcement on July 22 saying it is planning to start the 2021-22 school year with normal operations. Masks will be optional for all Forsyth County students and all staff in all areas this school year. Unless directed otherwise by the Department of Public Health or the governor's office, the district is not planning on contact tracing, quarantining healthy kids, or reporting daily positive cases on the district website.
